Nebraska Concealed Handgun Permit Class
CHP Class Information
What to bring: Your Nebraska Driver’s License or Nebraska State I.D. Card. Note taking material. Handgun (can be any make, model, or caliber and does not have to be the handgun you carry once authorized to carry concealed). A holster for your handgun, (any type of holster is allowed as long as it allows for drawing from the concealed position). Minimum of 80 rounds of ammunition for the handgun you are using; 50 rounds for practice and 30 rounds to qualify. (Please leave your firearm and ammunition in your vehicle until it is time for the range qualification portion). A jacket or shirt that covers the handgun. There is no time limit for firing. The course is approximately 6-8 hours of classroom and range; breaks will be given for either lunch or dinner - you will have time to go out or you can bring a sack lunch/dinner and enjoy it in our lobby. Coffee is provided and other refreshments/snacks can be purchased in the lobby.
What to review to prepare for class (not required but will be helpful for the class): The Nebraska Rules and Regulations, Title 272, Nebraska Administrative Code, Chapter 21 (can be found on the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) web site https://statepatrol.nebraska.gov/ ). The course requires a minimum 70% score on a 30 question written test to pass. The course requires a minimum 70% score on the live fire qualification test; using the standard FBI “Q” Target to pass.
Please note THIS IS NOT a beginning firearms course, you should be proficient in the use of your handgun and drawing from a holster in the concealed position for the live fire qualification portion of the test.
